Mar 15, 2019Determine the finish of your hardwood floors. Surfacesealed floors are stain and waterdamage resistant and easiest to clean: just sweep, mop and you're done! Penetrating sealtreated and oiltreated floors: A penetrating seal or oil finish will soak into the wood grain and harden. This type of floor must be pampered and protected with liquid or paste wax. This literally takes about 10 minutes, simply vacuum or mop the high traffic areas each day. For us this means the living room, dining room, and kitchen. I also use Fabuloso to mop the floors with too, it works great and leaves them smelling wonderful and clean too. Yes it is safe to use it on hard wood floors. You can use it on any floor you want. I've used it before on hardwood before with no problem. I use it all the time just ensure its not super wet on the floor. One capful of vinegar and maybe one drop (yes, one drop) of dishwashing liquid or something like Fabuloso. You can also throw in a capful of rubbing alcohol. You do not need to go out and get some expensive floor cleaner. BTW, you CAN damp mop polyurethaned floors. To mop floors with Fabuloso cleaner, mix cup of Fabuloso multiuse cleaner with a gallon of water. Use warm to hot water to maximize antibacterial capabilities. Mop in sections on a preswept floor, making sure to apply an even coat over the entire floor. Yes, Fabuloso can be used on laminate floors. Just be sure that floors dry completely. If you let the floors get too wet, the floors will warp youll have to replace them. However, urethane decomposes over time and ends up with cracks and pits and peeling which means things can get under the urethane and possibly in the wood itself. That is to say, urethaned wood can, over time, be progressively harder to keep clean. Thats when you might want to OCCASIONALLY use a detergent to clean it. How can the answer be improved. Jun 13, 2009Re: Speaking of mopping, does ANYBODY else use Fabuloso on their floors. I use it also and never thought to use it on anything except the floor. I just cleaned my bathroom but I might need to go over it again just to make it smell fresh instead of bleachy. Jul 24, 2009Best Answer: I used it on my hardwood floor and it worked just fine. Just don't use so much water that you have standing puddles on it, or it will warp the wood. The only thing I've noticed while using it on other surfaces is that while it smells really good, it's not that powerful a cleaner.
